Course overview

This Neurodiversity course, which is part of the SBS Inclusion Program, is designed to improve your understanding of neurodiversity, and to show how employment options for neurodivergent people can be improved and embraced.

 

This short course should take approximately 25 minutes to complete.

 

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the term "neurodiversity", and explain its importance and impact on employment
  • Explain the meaning of the terms "neurodiverse", "neurodivergent" and "neurotypical"
  • Outline some of the challenges neurodivergent individuals may experience in the workplace
  • Explain some of the benefits of having a neuroinclusive workplace culture
  • Name a simple technique—abbreviated by the initialism 'ATP'—that helps identify workplace adjustment requirements.
