In this self-paced module, developed in partnership with Heidi Ryan, we will explore what neurodivergence looks like in the context of speech pathology. You’ll gain an understanding of a range of neurotypes, as well as the enablers and barriers that may arise in practice. We'll identify core neurodiversity-affirming principles and consider how these can shape meaningful, strengths-based support for neurodivergent individuals.
We’ll then introduce The Intervention Pyramid - a practical model designed to guide service delivery. Each tier of the pyramid will be unpacked, with examples of how affirming principles can be applied at every level of practice.
Finally, you’ll be invited to reflect on your own approach, considering opportunities to enhance your practice and identify the priorities that matter most to you in building a truly neurodiversity-affirming framework.
