This 2-part Clinical Bite explores the basics of working with people with dementia, with a focus on communication. These sessions will focus on diagnosis, assessment and therapeutic support for both the person and the people around them. Dr Anna Volkmer
Dr Anna Volkmer is a consultant speech and language therapist and senior research fellow at University College London, UK. Anna has worked clinically across the UK and Australia. She now works at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospitals where she specialises in diagnosis and support for people affected by dementia. Anna’s research focuses on the development and trialing of speech and language interventions to support people with dementia and their families.
