About this item

Supporting speech pathologists to design, implement and evaluate telepractice services with practical guidance to deliver telepractice services across key speech pathology practice areas.

Course/Activity Information

Developed by Dr Clare Burns with contributors Professor Liz Ward, Dr Annie Hill and Dr Madeline Raatz, the Telepractice Toolkit is an online program designed to support speech pathologists to design, implement and evaluate telepractice services.

It is intended that learners will work through the content over a period of time as they develop their own telepractice service, and come back as needed.

The program is interactive with a learner workbook, case studies, explanatory videos, summary graphics, as well as downloadable templates and resources. A suite of resources is included throughout the program along with a Telepractice Resource Guide.

Together these provide information on a range of telepractice topics and offer practical guidance to assist clinicians to deliver telepractice services across key speech pathology practice areas.

Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Identify current telepractice drivers and models of care for speech pathology services
  • Describe the key components and steps required to develop, implement and evaluate speech pathology telepractice services
  • Plan, implement and evaluate a speech pathology telepractice service relevant to the learner’s context
  • Use the current evidence base and best practice principles relating to delivery of speech pathology telepractice services across different practice settings and user groups
  • Use the key resources relating to telepractice and the delivery of speech pathology telepractice services.
