This e-learning package provides education for Speech Pathologists and was developed by Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service in partnership with Speech Pathology Australia.

Health professionals, interpreters and translators can use the guides and tools to develop skills in caring for families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

The guides can help you:

• identify when a patient or their parent or carer needs an interpreter or translator
• talk with parents and carers with an interpreter
• run in-person training sessions for health professionals or interpreters and translators.

The tools can help you communicate better when you need to:

• understand a family's concerns and needs
• explain health and medical information
• get informed consent from a parent or carer.

An e-learning package for Interpreters working with Speech Pathologists is also available via the iLearn platform.
